Vol. 302 No. 10

Written Answers. - State Documents.

66.

asked the Minister for the Public Service the current position with regard to the accessibility of State documents to historians and to public inspection generally; and if he will review the situation with a view to bringing it into line with practice in other countries.

Apart from Government and Cabinet minutes up to 9th June, 1944, and certain related files which are available for inspection in the State Paper Office, State documents are not generally available to historians or to the public. This situation is currently under review.
