Vol. 302 No. 10

Written Answers. - Public Concert Hall.

73.

asked the Minister for Finance if the Government intend to proceed with the McGrath or other plans for the provision of a full size opera house/convention centre for Dublin.

The Government announced in May, 1974, that they did not intend to proceed with the full version of the original design of the Kennedy Memorial Concert Hall but that a Public Concert Hall would be developed at the Great Hall, Earlsfort Terrace. Tenders for this project were invited in June, 1977. A number of tenders have been received and these are now being considered.
