asked the Minister for Education whether his Department has yet completed its consideration of the possible sites for a second-level school in the Shankill area of County Dublin as suggested by Dublin County Council; if not, when such a review will be completed and a decision taken; when the Department anticipates that the school will be required; and when building will start.

My Department has concluded its consideration of possible sites for a second-level school in the Shankill area, County Dublin, and is in negotiation with the owner of the selected site with a view to its purchase.

It is expected that the work could start in the spring of 1980.

363.

asked the Minister for Education the plans he has for the second-level education of girls in the area immediately north of the Dargle river in North County Wicklow and South County Dublin.

The question of the provision to be made for second-level education of girls in the area mentioned by the Deputy is at present under consideration in my Department.

My Department is in consultation with local educational interests in the matter.
