Vol. 305 No. 1

Written Answers. - Brucellosis Scheme.

500.

asked the Minister for Agriculture why a farmer (details supplied) in County Cork was not paid grants under the preintensive brucellosis scheme in respect of two brucellosis reactors in his herd which had been disposed of by him in accordance with the scheme in 1976.

The grants to which the Deputy refers were not paid because no evidence that the animals were slaughtered in a meat factory has been produced by the herdowner, as required under the provisions of the pre-intensive brucellosis scheme. Should such evidence be produced the matter will be reconsidered.
