Vol. 305 No. 10

Written Answers. - Sale of Alcohol in Restaurants.

279.

asked the Minister for Justice if he will ensure that restaurants which are of a sufficiently high standard will be permitted to sell alcoholic beverages brewed or distilled in this country.

As I have already stated in reply to a question from Deputy O'Keeffe (Dáil Debates 27 October 1977, Volume 300, No. 10, columns 1417 and 1418), many proposals to amend the Intoxicating Liquor Laws have been made from time to time, some conflicting to a greater or lesser extent with others and while I will consider all such proposals I am not in a position to say whether it is likely that any amendments of the Acts will be proposed by me.
