Vol. 305 No. 10

Written Answers. - Dublin Roads Report.

290.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received the report of the City and County Manager on roads in Dublin; if he will meet a deputation from the Southern Cross Route Study Group to discuss the report; if so, when; and when he will make a statement on the Southern Cross Route proposals.

I indicated on 16 February in reply to questions from Deputies Keating and Quinn that the Dublin City and County Manager had forwarded to me his review of the major road proposals for the Dublin area, which includes the proposed Southern Cross route, pending consideration to be given to the review by the local bodies concerned. I am awaiting the outcome of that process. I already met a deputation from the Southern Cross route study group, when I suggested that they should keep in touch with the council members for their area. I told them I was not then in a position to assist them but that a further meeting might be arranged when the results of the manager's review have been examined. There is no point, therefore, in my receiving a further deputation at this stage.
