asked the Minister for Education if he will make arrangements to safeguard the pension and superannuation rights of non-teaching staff in comprehensive and community schools; and if he will ensure that such staff will be entitled to conditions of service equivalent to their counterparts employed by vocational education authorities.

The terms and conditions of a superannuation scheme for the non-teaching staff in comprehensive and community schools are at present under consideration. Relevant decisions in the matter will be expedited as much as possible. The intention would be that the conditions of service, including superannuation arrangements, would be comparable with those applicable in similar circumstances in the case of employees of vocational education committees.
