asked the Minister for Fisheries the number of new forest workers employed in forests for the first time (a) between July and December 1977; and (b) January and March 1978, indicating the total of new jobs in each county.

It is not possible to supply the information in the form requested by the Deputy. Between July and December 1977 there was a net increase of five in the number of workers employed at State forests and between January and March 1978 there was a further net increase of 112 workers. The number of workers employed is liable to fluctuation and the overall net increase of 117 since July 1977 resulted from the following county changes:
