The percentage increases in the House Building Cost Index were as follows: 1 April 1977 to 1 July 1977, 1.44 per cent; 1 July 1977 to 1 October 1977, 2.98 per cent; 1 October 1977 to 1 January 1978, 3.42 per cent.
