Vol. 306 No. 3

Written Answers. - Trim UDC Housing Grant.

196.

asked the Minister for the Environment why the application of Trim Urban District Council for £28,000 for new house building in the first half of this year was not granted.

Housing authorities were requested to submit to my Department claims for finance for new house building work which would be started before 31 July 1978. From the information which was then available to my Department, it was considered that work on the scheme of five houses which Trim Urban District Council propose to provide this year, would not be started before that date. Revised plans are being prepared by the council at present and the allocation of funds to finance the scheme will be considered when they are in a position to accept tenders for the scheme, and to have work on it commenced.
