206.

asked the Minister for Finance if, in view of the serious overcrowding at Lusk national school, County Dublin, he is now in a position to state (a) when work will commence on an extension (b) the size of, and facilities included in, such an extension; (c) the length of time it will take to carry out such work and (d) if, in the interim, his Department will have constructed adequate toilet facilities in the hall, currently in temporary use as classrooms.

(a) the chairman of the school management board has been authorised to accept a tender for the proposed extension scheme and it is expected that work will commence shortly; (b) The extension comprises four classrooms, a general purposes room and ancillary accommodation such as toilet accommodation, a library and a staff room; (c) The work is expected to take approximately one year to complete; (d) An estimate for the provision of temporary toilet accommodation in the former Library Hall is being sent to the Department of Education with a recommendation that a grant be sanctioned for this work.
