Vol. 306 No. 4

Written Answers. - Social Welfare Benefits.

209.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a person (details supplied) in County Cork has not been paid unemployment benefit to date, having lost his employment on 31 January 1978.

Due to difficulties in communicating with the local offices of my Department which are handling the case, it has not been possible in the time available to obtain the information requested. As soon as the information has been obtained I will write to the Deputy.

210.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why a widow's contributory pension has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

A claim for widow's contributory pension made by the person concerned on the 20 March 1978 was disallowed on the ground that the contribution conditions for entitlement were not satisfied on either her own or her late husband's insurance record.

211.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have a non-contributory pension paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

A non-contributory old age pension at the maximum rate, with effect from 22 March 1977, has been awarded to the person concerned by the decision of an appeals officer. The pension order book and arrears of pension were issued on 5 May 1978.
