Vol. 306 No. 4

Written Answers. - Community Schools.

225.

asked the Minister for Education when the amounts specified to be paid by the religious orders, and by the VECs, in the deed of trust for each community school will become payable; and if the organisations concerned will have to make such sums available from their own resources, or if they will be able to claim recoupment from any source of public funds.

The amounts specified to be paid by the religious authorities and the VECs in the deed of trust for each community school will become payable when the deed of trust is signed by the parties involved. It will normally be payable in one amount, or in equal instalments over a period of five years without interest being charged.

The religious authorities will pay their contribution from their own resources. The VEC contribution will be paid from the ordinary vocational education fund of the committee.
