Vol. 306 No. 9

Written Answers. - Laois Unemployment Benefit.

95.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why unemployment benefit has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Laois, who applied on 11 October 1977.

Unemployment benefit has not been paid to the person concerned as there are not sufficient Irish social insurance contributions paid in respect of her to enable her to qualify for benefit.

As she had been employed in Great Britain prior to her employment in this country, inquiries have been made from the British social security authorities for details of her social insurance record there but a reply is still awaited. When this information is to hand her claim will be re-examined without delay.
