: I understand that Bord na Móna have for some years been interested in acquiring Gowla Farm in connection with proposed development plans by that body. In response to an inquiry from the Irish Sugar Company I indicated some time ago that I would have no objection to the company entering into negotiations with Board na Móna on condition that any transfer of the property would be subject to payment of a satisfactory price and the making of suitable arrangements for the safeguarding of the employment of the existing workers at Gowla Farm.
