The rates are exclusive of incentive bonus which operates on the Boyne and Maigue drainage schemes. Bonus earnings vary from man to man and from week to week. They average about 25 per cent of basic pay.
Employees such as works clerks and general yard workers whose work cannot directly influence output, are paid an indirect bonus which is based on the overall performance on the scheme.
Foremen grades I, II and III and work study assessors grades I and II have a non-consolidated allowance in lieu of bonus calculated at 10 per cent of basic pay.
The normal working week is 40 hours for all grades.
