Vol. 308 No. 6

Written Answers. - Navan New Vocational School.

505.

asked the Minister for Education if a decision has yet been made regarding the site on which the new building for Navan vocational school, County Meath, will be erected; and, if so, when building will commence.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 14 of 7 March 1978 and also to my statement on the adjournment debate on 9 March 1978. (columns 1360-1380). I indicated that it would be necessary to secure a purchaser for the existing school building before any decision could be taken about the vocational school in Navan. A report on the outcome of local negotiations in this regard is at present being examined. Pending the outcome of this consideration, I am not in a position to give a decision in relation to the new school or when the new building will be commenced.
