I am aware of the proposals for an EEC directive on the Protection of Participants in Home Study Courses and my Department has been represented at meetings of the Council's Working Party which is dealing with the matter.
Until such time, however, as the proposed directive is available in final form and has been studied by the various interests concerned it is not possible to say whether or not it will be necessary to introduce special legislation to give effect to it.
