The Commissioners of Public Works have completed a preliminary engineering examination of a proposal under the Coast Protection Act, 1963 for coast protection works at Lisfannon, County Donegal. They are in communication with Donegal County Council in regard to further action necessary to prevent removal of beach material in the relevant area. At this stage it is not possible to say if a scheme of coast protection works under the Act is feasible.
