Vol. 309 No. 5

Written Answers. - Provision of Traffic Ramps.

468.

asked the Minister for the Environment if his Department is currently considering the possibility of sanctioning the provision of ramps on a permanent or experimental basis as a traffic control measure in either Dublin city or county, and if so the areas concerned; the types of ramps under consideration; and if he will favourably consider a request from the Roads Department of Dublin County Council for the provision of such ramps in the Watson Estate, Killiney, County Dublin, in view of the amount of heavy traffic using the estate roads.

I have no such proposal under consideration. I am advised that apart from legal implications, the results of research do not support the general adoption of ramps and accordingly I would not favour their introduction here.
