asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have unemployment benefit paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork.

The person concerned applied for unemployment assistance and arrangements have been made for the payment of all amounts due to him. He was not entitled to unemployment benefit as he did not satisfy the contribution requirements on either his Irish or English social insurance records.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why unemployment benefit has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly who applied eight weeks ago.

The person concerned claimed unemployment benefit on 21 October 1978 but was disallowed because he did not satisfy the contribution conditions. He has been advised to apply for unemployment assistance.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why unemployment assistance has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Offaly, who signed on at Portarlington employment exchange on 1 October 1978.

Unemployment assistance has now been paid in this case and further payments will be made as they fall due.
