Vol. 309 No. 10

Written Answers. - County Cork Primary Schools.

313.

asked the Minister for Education when it is proposed to erect primary schools at Crossmahon, Bandon and Ballydehob, County Cork.

I understand that the Commissioners of Public Works will be communicating with the school management regarding the sinking of a well on the proposed school site and with the county council regarding the result of a soil test in connection with the placing of a septic tank.

Bandon: The school management was asked to engage an architect to prepare sketch plans for the new school and to submit the plans to the Commissioners of Public Works for approval. To date the commissioners have not received the plans.

Ballydehob: I understand that the Commissioners of Public Works will soon be in a position to furnish a report on the suitability of a site offered for the new school.

As the planning of these three schools is at an early stage of planning, it is not possible to say when building work will be commenced.
