asked the Minister for the Environment the number of towns and villages in County Galway, and their names, that have applied to Galway County Council to have a sewerage scheme prepared for their village; and the towns that have not applied but require a sewerage scheme.

The present position regarding sewerage schemes in planning in County Galway, in so far as my Department is aware is as follows:

Galway County Council have been asked to forward direct to the Deputy details of the towns and villages where sewerage schemes are required or have been requested by the local community but for which the council have not yet undertaken the planning of a scheme.
