Vol. 311 No. 6

Written Answers. - Mount Merrion (County Dublin) Water Supply.

207.

asked the Minister for the Environment the water authority for the Mount Merrion area of County Dublin; if he is satisfied that the public health and other statutory requirements in relation to the water supply are being observed in this area; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Dublin Corporation are the authority primarily responsible for the provision and maintenance of a water supply in this "extra-municipal area".

While I am aware that there have been problems with pressures in the area, I understand that these have been improved considerably as a result of work recently carried out by the corporation. I understand that regular tests are carried out on the quality of the water being supplied and I have no reason to believe that it is not satisfactory or that public health requirements are not being met.
