asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs (1) the estimated number of letters and parcels in the State not delivered, and operator-assisted telephone calls not made during the week commencing 18 February 1979, (2) the estimated loss of revenue in respect of (a) letter and parcel mail, (b) telephones, (c) other services, and (3) the amount of wages and salaries unpaid to staff in respect of their week of withdrawal of service.

On the basis of withdrawal of service for a week, the estimates sought are broadly as follows:

(1) 7 million letters, 150,000 parcels and a million telephone calls; (2) (a) £800,000, (b) £400,000, (c) £30,000; (3) £1,000,000.
