In October 1977 a scheme to provide for a second operating theatre at the County Hospital, Wexford, was agreed between the South Eastern Health Board and my Department.

However, the board on further consideration decided that the provision of the second theatre should be deferred and considered in conjunction with the overall development of the hospital.

While a project team is at present preparing a planning brief to enable a development control plan for the hospital to be prepared this plan will not be available until later this year.
