asked the Minister for Fisheries and Forestry the number of drift net licences issued by each board of conservators in each of the following years, 1963, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1978.

As the reply is in the form of a tabular statement I propose, with the permission of the Ceann Comhairle, to circulate it with the Official Report.

The figure for the Limerick District includes 70 licences issued under the Shannon Tidal Waters (Issue of Fishing Licences) Regulations 1935 and that for the Lismore District includes 51 licences issued in respect-of a private fishery.
