Written Answers. - County Dublin Health Centres.

143.

asked the Minister for Health the present position in relation to health centres at Baldoyle and Portmarnock; if any recent improvements or additional facilities have been provided or are planned; and if he will make a statement on these matters.

The Baldoyle area is served by the existing health centre at Willie Nolan Road, Baldoyle, which provides an extensive range of community care services, including medical, public health nursing, community welfare and chiropody services. A new dental unit at the centre was completed last year and is now operational. A number of internal improvements, including decoration, have been carried out. The Eastern Health Board are satisfied that the centre is adequate to serve the existing needs of the area.

There is not at present any health centre in the Portmarnock area, but the health board provide clinics in a room of a local school which has been made available to the board. The board are urgently seeking a site in the area for the provision of a health centre.
