Written Answers. - State-Sponsored Bodies.

249.

asked the Minister for Health if, in respect of each body under the aegis of his Department included in the orders of reference of the Joint Committee on State-Sponsored Bodies, he will state (i) the turnover, (ii) the amount of capital employed, (iii) the number of employees and (iv) the foreign earnings in the latest year for which the information is available.

The only body under the aegis of my Department included in the orders of reference of the Joint Committee on State-Sponsored Bodies is the Voluntary Health Insurance Board. The board's total income in the year ended 28 February 1978 was £17,421,782. The board employ 186 persons on a permanent basis. The other issues raised in the question do not apply in the case of the Voluntary Health Insurance Board.
