Vol. 313 No. 1

Written Answers. - Contraceptives Indemnity.

250.

asked the Minister for Health what indemnity, if any, doctors, chemists, druggists or other clinics will have who prescribe, sell or otherwise provide contraceptives under law against claims for damages and if it is proposed that such indemnity should extend to manufacturers of contraceptives; and if such indemnity is planned will compensation be payable to claimants from the public purse.

The legal provisions which currently apply to prescription, sale or provision of articles by professional persons and clinics will continue to apply and it is not intended to make any special provision in relation to contraceptives.
