Vol. 313 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Galway Estates.

240.

asked the Minister for Agriculture to request the Irish Land Commission to acquire an estate (details supplied) in County Galway.

In September 1978 the Land Commission consented to the transfer of portion of this holding to a local person. Recent inquiries indicate that the balance of the holding was bequeathed also to the person referred to who, it is understood, had been caring for the owner for a number of years prior to his death. Having regard to all the circumstances this does not appear to be a case where the institution of proceedings by the Land Commission would be warranted.

241.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if the Irish Land Commission will acquire an estate in County Galway (details supplied).

After full examination of the situation the Land Commission decided to take no action to acquire this property.
