Vol. 313 No. 4

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - New School.

22.

asked the Minister for Finance if he would give the following information in respect of a school (details supplied) (a) who drew up and approved of the plans for the school; (b) who authorised the connection of electricity to the school; and (c) if he is satisfied with the present condition of this newly-erected school.

The plans of this school were prepared by the architect appointed by the chairman of the school management board and were approved by the Office of Public Works in consultation with the Department of Education.

It is a matter for the chairman of the school management board and the architect appointed by him to arrange with the ESB for the making of a connection to the school.

Responsibility for the satisfactory completion of the school lies with the chairman and his architect. When the architect's final account and final certificate have been furnished to the Office of Public Works, arrangements will be made to have the work inspected for the purpose of enabling the final grant payments to be issued.
