Works on this scheme are expected to commence in 1980.
While I am glad of what the Minister says in his reply I cannot understand the reason for the 12-month delay? What will the Board of Works be doing for the next 12 months in arranging for the commencement of this work?
An approximate timetable is that the finalisation of the contract documents will be about August 1979, the county council's approval of documents and lodgment of local contribution will be about November 1979, invitation of tenders and placing of contracts, May 1980 and the works should start in summer 1980.
