Vol. 313 No. 10

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Monaghan Veterinary Office.

1.

asked the Minister for Agriculture if he will open a district veterinary office in County Monaghan to facilitate farmers in the county.

The number and location of district veterinary offices are at present being examined by my Department. Pending the outcome of this examination I cannot say what additional offices, if any, may be provided. I should like to say to Deputy Conlan that I am very much aware of the need for an office in County Monaghan and I hope there will be news in this regard quite soon.

Is the Minister aware that Monaghan County Council offered a suitable location for an office in County Monaghan?

I beg the Deputy's pardon. I did not hear him.

Monaghan County Council have offered a suitable location if the Department decide to have an office there.

It would be well for the Department to have a district veterinary office in County Monaghan and I hope we will have this matter cleared up pretty soon.
