Vol. 314 No. 3

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - Shankill (Dublin) Road Access.

16.

asked the Minister for the Environment if he is aware that it is impossible for emergency services to reach houses to the east of the railway bridge on Quinn's Road, Shankill, County Dublin; and if he will take any action to remedy the situation or consider favourably any request from the local authority for funds to carry out any remedial work that may be necessary.

The planning and execution of road improvements at this location are matters wholly within the discretion of Dublin County Council and would not require to be submitted for my sanction. Any such work would fall to be financed from the council's own resources supplemented by the general (block) grant provided annually by my Department.
