asked the Minister for Finance the total pay increase made or proposed to be made to drainage workers since the commencement of the National Pay Agreement, 1978 and the present rate of pay.

Note: The rates quoted do not include:

(i) Incentive Bonus which is payable on the Boyne, Maigue and Corrib-Mask Schemes;

(ii) An increase of £5 a week for general drainage workers below the grade of qualified excavator driver recommended recently by the Labour Court, which is at present under consideration;

(iii) A "productivity" payment of £1.50 a week for general drainage workers up to and including the grade of ganger which is the subject of negotiations.
