asked the Minister for Agriculture the weekly pay and pay increases of manual and supervisory grades of workers in his Department in respect of the period covered by the national pay agreement, 1978 and the present pay of farm foreman, granary foreman, tractor driver, truck driver, field assistant, stockman, agricultural worker, machinery attendant, porter and services attendant.

Notes:

1. All employees in the above grades with the exception of the Assistant Foreman and Gardeners at the Botanic Gardens and the Gardener at Ballyhaise qualify for service pay at the rate of £0.25, £0.50, £0.75 and £1.00 weekly after 5, 10, 15, 20 years' service respectively.

2. The rates shown are inclusive of any allowances payable.

3. The basic rates of pay for Assistant Foremen and Gardeners in the Botanic Gardens shown in Column 4 above are the rates now payable consequent on Labour Court Recommendation No. 4777 granting these grades parity with Supervisory Gardeners Grade I and II, employed by Dublin Corporation.

4. The Engineman at the Munster Institute receives an additional weekly allowance of £0.75 during the heating season.

5. The Lorry Driver driving a 6 ton vehicle at Abbotstown Farm received a special increase of £5 per week from 1 March 1978 pursuant to Labour Recommendation No. 4975.

6. The basic rate of pay for Gardener at Ballyhaise shown in column 4 above is the rate now payable to Gardeners in the Botanic Gardens consequent on Labour Court Recommendation No. 4818.
