The person concerned claimed disability benefit from 5 April 1979 but due to the disruption of the postal services the claim form and medical certificates were not received in my Department.

An officer contacted him within the last few days and obtained particulars of his claim. Arrangements are being made to have payment of benefit made to him this week. The cheque may be collected at the temporary distribution centre at Tullamore on Friday next, 18 May.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare why disability benefit has not been paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath.

The person concerned claimed occupational injury benefit in respect of an accident at work on 15 March 1979. Owing to the disruption of the postal services the original claim form and medical certificates were not received in my Department. Duplicates have however now been obtained and arrangements are being made to have interim payment of disability benefit made pending determination of his claim for injury benefit. The relevant cheques are being sent for collection to the employment exchange, Drogheda.
