Vol. 314 No. 5

Written Answers. - Cape Clear Island Housing.

284.

asked the Minister for the Environment if an extra allocation will be made towards the cost of housing on Cape Clear Island; the amount of such allocation and when it will be available.

I assume that the Deputy is referring to three houses built on the island by Cork County Council between 1976 and 1977. I informed the local authority in August of last year that I would accept the additional cost of these houses, amounting to £8,000 approximately, as a charge against housing capital and I have arranged to make the money available to the council from their 1979 capital allocation for local authority housing.
