Vol. 314 No. 7

Ceisteanna—Questions. Oral Answers. - County Donegal School Board of Management.

12.

asked the Minister for Education if he has received any complaint from a parent in relation to the election of parent representatives to the board of management of a school (details supplied) in County Donegal, and the action, if any, it is proposed to take in the matter.

A letter of complaint in relation to this matter has been received and is under consideration.

The Minister has taken a very proper course of action in this matter. Can he give any indication of the time-scale of the investigation he has instituted? I appreciate there are many claims on the time of the Department, but I wonder is he aware of the degree of social and community destruction which is being caused in this area by this dispute?

There is a certain problem in getting all the information. I answered a question on this already. Frankly, I was convinced every effort had been made in the second election to rectify the matter. An inquiry is going on and there will not be any undue delay.
