(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment in respect of each housing authority, the number on the waiting list for local authority houses.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 274 of the 3 April 1979, in which I gave the most up-to-date information available to me.

289.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment, in respect of each housing authority, the number of new local authority houses starts from and including 1970 to date.

Separate comparable figures are not available in the records of my Department for rural cottages. The average cost for a rural area given above includes rural cottages and small schemes in rural areas.

291.

(Cavan-Monaghan) asked the Minister for the Environment the financial allocation to each housing authority in respect of the years 1972 and 1979 inclusive and the amount requested by each such authority in the same years.

I would refer the Deputy to my reply to Question No. 459 on 18 April 1978 in which I gave the required details of the amounts of capital for local authority house building programmes requested by housing authorities and the allocations made for 1978. The balance of the information requested is being compiled as quickly as possible and will be forwarded to the Deputy.
