No increases in the money supply were ordered by the Government in the past five years.
Changes in the money supply are influenced by the level of economic activity and the demand for money by the public. Details of increases since 1966 are set out in Table 10 of the annual report of the Central Bank for 1979, copies of which have been laid before the House and made available to Deputies. The information is not contained in the national accounts.
