The question of whether or not a person is entitled to a medical card is a matter for the chief executive officer of the health board. The Eastern Health Board have investigated the case in question and the position is that this person has been deemed ineligible for a medical card as her husband's income is considerably in excess of the income guidelines laid down for medical card eligibility.
