Vol. 315 No. 2

Written Answers. - Unemployment Benefit.

53.

asked the Minister for Social Welfare if he will arrange to have unemployment benefit paid to a person (details supplied) in Dublin.

According to the records of my Department the person referred to by the Deputy last claimed unemployment benefit from 21 August 1978 to 28 April 1979 and all benefit due on his claim has been paid.

His entitlement to unemployment benefit and pay-related benefit was subject to a statutory limitation of 85 per cent of nett earnings between 6 April and date of his claim. His rate of unemployment benefit was increased from 11 December 1978 on the birth of his fourth child but as the weekly amount payable exceeded the 85 per cent limitation no pay-related benefit was payable during the period 11 December 1978 to 28 April 1979.
