asked the Minister for Education the progress made on the proposed extension to Kiltale national school since his reply to Question No. 529 of 7 November 1978 and when it is expected work will commence and be completed.

I understand that the management authority have indicated recently to my Department that reclamation work on the site extension offered has been completed. Accordingly the Commissioners of Public Works are being asked if the site extension may now be accepted. It is not possible at this stage to say when work on the extension scheme will commence.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in regard to the extension of St. Patrick's Classical School, Navan, County Meath, to a capacity of 500 pupils, which was approved in principle in 1977.

My Department on 25 January 1978 conveyed approval for the commencement of work on the extension of St. Patrick's Classical School, Navan, to provide a capacity of 500 pupil places. A substantial amount of the building works has already been carried out. The final account for the project has not yet been submitted.

asked the Minister for Education when a gymnasium will be provided at Oldcastle second level school, County Meath.

An application from the Oldcastle second-level school for a capital allocation for a physical education hall is under consideration. A decision in the matter will be conveyed to the County Meath Vocational Education Committee as soon as possible.

asked the Minister for Education the present position in relation to the provision of an additional classroom and general purposes room at Ballivor school, County Meath.

I understand from the Commissioners of Public Works that tenders have been invited for this scheme.

103.

asked the Minister for Education the national schools in County Meath where sanction has been given for the use of prefabricated classrooms since 7 November 1978.

According to the records of my Department no grants have been sanctioned since 7 November 1978 for the provision of prefabricated classrooms in national schools in County Meath.
