Vol. 315 No. 12

Written Answers. - Certificates of Reasonable Value.

172.

asked the Minister for the Environment the average price per house for which certificates of reasonable value were issued in the latest available quarter and the precentage increase over the comparable quarter of 1978.

The average price per house for which Certificates of Reasonable Value were issued in the second quarter of 1979 was £19,819.

The percentage increase over the comparable quarter of 1978 was 21.8 per cent.

Comparison of house prices in the above periods should have regard to the fact that from 21 August 1978 the scope of the CRV system was extended to cover a wider range of houses for which building society loans were approved including non grant-type houses.
