Vol. 316 No. 3

Written Answers. - County Dublin Road Improvement.

478.

asked the Minister for the Environment when the compulsory purchase order for the lands necessary to improve the road junction at Monaloe Park Road and Cabinteely Way, Cabinteely, County Dublin, will be confirmed.

I confirmed the compulsory purchase order in question on 19 February 1979 and Dublin County Council have been informed accordingly.

479.

asked the Minister for the Environment when approval will be given to the scheme submitted by Dublin County Council on the 10 December 1976 concerning the Bray Road-Whites Cross to Westminster Road, County Dublin.

Following examination of the outline proposals received from Dublin County Council in 1976 for the section of road in question, the council were requested, in April 1977, to submit a stages development report indicating their priorities for the development of the remaining sections of the Bray Road to be improved. This report, which was received from the council in July 1978, showed that the section of road from Whites Cross to Kill Lane, which represents the bulk of the road referred to by the Deputy, should be the last section of the Bray Road to be improved—the time scale being 1987 to 1989.

I have since approved of outline proposals, submitted by the council in accordance with their order of priorities, including stage 1 of the Cornelscourt/Cabinteely by-pass from the vicinity of Westminster Road to the Loughlinstown dual carriageway.

The balance of the road referred to by the Deputy, from Kill Lane to Westminster Road, will be improved as stage 2 of the Cornelscourt/Cabinteely by-pass following completion of stage 1 of the scheme.

I am not in a position at this stage to indicate when work will commence on this section of the road.
