Vol. 316 No. 3

Written Answers. - Health Care Planning.

419.

asked the Minister for Health if a study is presently underway of the ramifications of the preliminary census returns for the planning of health care in Ireland.

In planning the health services account is now being taken of the information on population numbers which has become available in the preliminary report on the 1979 census. A more thorough analysis of the census returns and its effects on health services planning will be undertaken when more detailed information, particularly in relation to the age and sex structure of the population, becomes available.
