Vol. 317 No. 9

Written Answers. - Telephone Service.

255.

asked the Minister for Posts and Telegraphs if he has received representations from Ratoath Community Council, County Meath, regarding the appalling state of the telephone service since December 1978 and his proposals to improve the service.

I have received representations from the council about the quality of the telephone service in the area.

The service at Ratoath had been unsatisfactory for some time due to deterioration of the cable between Ratoath and Blanchardstown. This cable was replaced last month and the service is now much improved.
