Vol. 318 No. 1

Written Answers. - Bound Statutes Publication.

485.

asked the Minister for Finance the length of the delay in publishing the bound statutes for any given year.

In the case of the last five bound volumes of the Acts of the Oireachtas published, 1971, 1972, 1973, 1974 and 1975, the maximum period taken to publish a volume was 22 months and the minimum period 15 months. The delay in the publication of the bound volumes subsequent to 1975 is due to a number of factors, the main one being a shortage of staff in the Translation Section of the Houses of the Oireachtas. The printing of the 1976 volume, which is exceptionally bulky and will run to two volumes, is nearing completion. Due to the delay in preparation of the 1976 volumes, the volumes for subsequent years will also be delayed.
